This is an orange flyer that advertises “For President Eugene V. Debs, Candidate of the Social Democratic Party.” It includes a drawing of Debs and describes him as the “champion of the cause of labor for twenty-five years.” Debs ran for President on the Social Democratic Party ticket, the predecessor to the Socialist Party, in 1900. He earned 87,000 votes. Twenty years later he ran for President on the Socialist Party ticket and earned 1 million votes - from prison.
