::Reading the Text::
In this next few pages, you will have the opportunity to
try to read a bit of P46 for yourself. Particularly, you will
be looking at the first few lines of Paul's Letter to the
Galatians, which begins at about the middle of page 168 of
the codex (displayed to the right). If you've never seen an
ancient Greek manuscript before, it may take some getting
used to before you are comfortable reading the script. However,
because this is a well-made mansucript, written in a nice
book hand by a professional scribe, the letters should
be relatively easy to identify.

Once you've reveiwed the two pages above, you should be ready
to begin reading. As you look at each line, try to decipher
the text, refering to the alphabet as needed, before checking
the transcription.
