Description
A polyconic projection of the Greater Detroit Area where individual neighborhoods have been ranked and colored according to HOLC ratings of perceived investment risk. The ratings were heavily racialized with racially and ethnically diverse neighborhoods consistently graded D and colored red. On this map, the majority of red and yellow areas are located in Downtown Detroit, where the majority of Detroit’s African-American and immigrant population resided.
