Description
Starting in the 16th century, copperplates were used to create beautiful, detailed maps. This map is a magnificent example of the subtleties and intricacies afforded by the soft nature of the copper metal, and is a testament to the extensive preparation necessary by a master craftsman. This corner is only four of the 25 prints that make up this map. The map can be found here.
