Description
W. Dorr Legg helped found the homophile organization ONE and its magazine in the early 1950s. William Kern, a.k.a. Bill Dakota, a member of ONE, served four years for gross indecency with a minor. The proprietor of an early adult bookstore and owner of Studio D, a gay after hours club in Flint, Kern says he was set up. Several years after his release from prison, he moved to Los Angeles and opened a Coney Island restaurant near Hollywood and Vine.
