Starky's Restaurant is the child of two former Detroiters who brought their love of deli and Jewish foods west with them when they moved to Montana. Realizing that they could not find a decent corned beef sandwich, bowl of matzo ball soup, or bagel anywhere nearby, they opened this American continental restaurant with an emphasis on Jewish tradition.
They cure their own corned beef and its local, bison-derived sibling, the corned buff, in house. Because they are so far from any Jewish food suppliers, they need to make most of their items in house, wallowing them to serve homemade and homestyle foods to the community.
They say that they were inspired by Zingerman's for the planning of many items on their menu.
