The German architect and engineer Frei Otto (1925-2015) has been posthumously awarded this year's Pritzker Architecture Prize. Best known for his work with lightweight tensile and membrane structures, he founded and led the Institute for Lightweight Structures at the University of Stuttgart. Numerous images of his work are in the image database of the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library.
