IEEE Xplore Tips & Tricks

This 30 minute overview of best practices for searching IEEE Xplore includes how to set up alerts, download equations from full-text HTML, find paper and patent citations, export citations into bibliographic management systems, locate information on companies using author affiliation, and more. This session will be led by Jalyn Kelley from IEEE.

Data Visualization 101

A 30-minute overview of Data Visualization techniques and best practices, presented by the library’s Data Visualization Librarian, Justin Joque. The session will not cover how to use a specific piece of software, but will discuss software options for various types of visualization. 

Introduction to Citation Management

A 30-minute session to introduce the concept of citation management. Will provide an overview of the most common citation managers, including EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero. Best practices for citation management will be covered. No need for a laptop. This session will be led by Engineering Librarian Jamie Niehof.

Effective Research Strategies
Thursday, March 28 from 11:00am-11:30am

This 30-minute session will introduce Effective Research Strategies using library resources, by exploring what databases to search and how to determine effective keywords. Lead by Engineering Librarian Leena Lalwani.
